LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

Job description:

It is under the supervision of the Vice President Research, Development and Innovation that the laboratory technician will work to develop and optimize innovative solutions for biomass valorization.

Main responsibilities:

  • Analyze products from biomass transformation processes;
  • Test prototypes and innovative processes;
  • Sample and prepare shipments for customers;
  • Contribute to innovations for cutting-edge industrial applications;
  • Coordinate the Technical Center: take inventory, purchase consumables and keep the laboratory tidy and clean;
  • Compile data and analyze results;
  • All other related tasks.

Profile required:

  • D.E.C. in Laboratory Technology, or other training deemed equivalent;
  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in a similar position;
  • Thoroughness, perseverance, attention to detail;
  • Ability to document information methodically;
  • Autonomy, initiative and organizational skills;
  • Problem-solving skills / resourcefulness.

MACHINE OPERATOR

Job description:

Under the supervision of the Vice President Research, Development and Innovation, the Machine Operator will be responsible for operating the laboratory unit autonomously in addition to identifying potential mechanical and possibly process problems.

Main responsibilities:

  • Operate experimental research and development equipment;
  • Record information and data;
  • Work with the laboratory technician to carry out specific tests;
  • Perform visual verification of mechanical components;
  • Perform preventive maintenance on the Technical Center equipment;
  • Analyze problems and breakdowns and repair the Technical Center equipment;
  • Modify equipment as required;
  • Help design and manufacture prototypes and new products;
  • All other related tasks;

Profile required:

  • Any relevant training and/or experience.
  • Good knowledge of general mechanical components and links (conveyor screws, gearboxes, chains, belts, etc.);
  • Knowledge of maintenance procedures for general mechanical components and linkages;
  • Basic knowledge of electricity and controls (transformer, fuse, three-phase motor, PLC, variable-frequency drive, various transmitters, etc.);
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings;
  • Resourcefulness, dynamism, analytical skills and autonomy;
  • Ability to lift loads of up to 25kg;
