Airex Energy is a world leader in the design, manufacturing, and installation of equipment for transforming biomass into three products that enable the decarbonization of heavy industrial processes and carbon sequestration. The company is seeking applications for a permanent full-time position as an Industrial Automation Engineer at its Laval offices.

Job description:

Under the supervision of the Vice-President Engineering, the buyer will be responsible for sourcing suppliers and purchasing general and specialized equipment. He will also be responsible for the complete logistics of our product and equipment deliveries, both in North America and internationally.

Main responsibilities:

• Research and develop the supplier network (North America and international);
• Negotiate annual agreements for the supply of raw materials and consumables;
• Negotiate prices and payment terms;
• Work with technical and production teams to source components;
• Identify cost reduction opportunities;
• Organize logistics associated with the purchase or sale of equipment and supplies, and follow up with suppliers and supply chain stakeholders;
• Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and customs protocols;
• All other related tasks.

Profile required:

• Technical degree in Operations or Supply Chain Management
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, an asset
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a buyer in the manufacturing or industrial sector
• Bilingual, French and English, to communicate with our suppliers and transporters
• Willingness to travel occasionally to suppliers
• Strong negotiation skills
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work on several projects simultaneously
• Analytical mind and rigor
